It's been a long long time (as always) since the last time I wrote on this blog! So, have you seen my last experiment from the previous post? As you can see I was trying to do extreme make up change to make my face look like insane but doll-like face. So what do you think?
Lately I've been so busy reading many kind of beauty blogs in Indonesia, trying to find a good makeup with good price. One of my favorite blog is looxperiments.com, and I am following their twit via @looxperiments. They gave me a lot of advice about choosing make up and a lot tip about beauty. And I really like their make up product review! The Looxperiments also has an event called "makeup challenge" where they gave make up theme every two weeks, and we can send our make up photo based on the theme. All of the photos will be shown on their page at looxperiments.com.
I have participated in their last two make up challenge. The theme were: Celebrity make up and Floral.
Recently I really like to watch America's Next Top Model, and I really adore Tyra Banks. So, for the first trial I did Tyra Banks smokey eye.

I'll give you a closer look:
Eye done by Sariayu
Eyebrow by Revlon
I tried to make it as dark as I could, I tried to make it as dark and as deep as Tyra Banks, but this was all. I used black and white eye shadow only. But the color was not really pigmented. My eyes didn't look smokey enough
And the second trial was for Floral Theme.
For this theme, I tried to draw Sakura in my eyes, I used purple, green, and white eye shadow by Sariayu, Eye brow by Revlon, and Lip by Sariayu
Take a closer look:
The eyeshadow color was supposed to be popped out, especially the green one since I put it really heavy. The color was light and shimmery, but what I found in the picture is just a slight green and slight purple (although the white color looked really pigmented).
At first, I was questioning, why did it happen? Why the color didn't pop out? Why the color didn't look like the real color in the palette? Why it didn't look like the one in the magazine? Was it about the camera?
Was it about the eyeshadow?
And now I finally found the answer! Not about the camera, not about the eyeshadow (since Sariayu is a well-known brand in Indonesia!). The answer is EYE PRIMER or EYE SHADOW BASE! Simple! I didn't put any eye primer, that's why the color didn't standout!
So, what is eye primer or eyeshadow?
"eye primer" or "eye shadow base" is a kind of cream (or liquid--just like foundation) that is used before applying eyeshadow. Its function is to make the eyeshadow color pop out, more pigmented, and not easily creasing. for some powdery eyeshadow, the use of eye primer will help you to keep the powdery eyeshadow stick with a neat and does not quickly fade or creasing.
Sariayu's eyeshadow that I used was a little powdery, that's why the color didn't stick and didn't stand out. If I want the look just like in a magazine, Eye primer definitely a must have!
The I started to search information about many kind of eye primer. My make up buddy, Adhyanti suggested me to use NYX eye primer. Well, NYX eye primer is a well-known stuff around beauty bloggers, because of the quality and the price (which is NOT cheap). Or Urban Decay Primer Potion (UDPP) which is sooooo expensive and not available (in Indonesia you have to buy it online) but the quality is beyond....every beauty blogger said the same thing, "very good".
So I tried NYX eyeshadow base when I put on make up a week a go for a dance show. Take a look:
I really like the fact that the eyeshadow looks exactly like what you see in the palette. Popped out. The color didn't creasing even after the dance and the sweat. With this eyeshadow base, it feels easier to put eyeshadow. You don't have to put it too much or too heavy. And you don't have to worry for a long period :)
And the next thing I have to buy now is an eye primer! Well, NYX's isn't affordable to me. So I decided to find cheaper one but with closest quality. Most of beautybloggers suggest AUBEAU Eye shadow base (made in Indonesia). They told me that this product is really good, a local version of UDPP. But it's hard to find in my city (Surabaya). I guess I have to order it online or find it in another city :) And I really want to try super-cheap eyeshadow base by Viva (local brand). When I find both, I will compare it :D
What I learned is: Eye primer or eye shadow base--> it's a must!

This is a story about this gitl and her teddy bear.... |
There was this girl. She always wear a long dress with a teddy bear in her hand |
She always walk with her bear, wherever she goes. |
She sits with the bear |
And she never let go of the only bear she has |
When you take that Teddy bear away, She goes crazy |
She just can't handle the pain of losing the one she likes, the teddy bear |
And it happens to everybody who really love something, or someone You'll go crazy of losing it |
That's why, you will never let it go, whatever it takes It belongs to you and nobody can take it You will hold it strong Forever..... |
That's what love means to this girl And perhaps to everyone in this world Hold it forever Don't let go..... |
This is my new experiment, extreme make up change, ugly-pretty kind of picture. I don't know if it's good enough, but I think it tells the story of an ugly-pretty little girl. The pictures quality are not the best, because I only used low light mode from a digital pocket camera with not enough natural light to hit the face and a tripod. So I used a little help from photo editor program to make it like these. The make up I used was a daily type of make up but I applied it harder. And it was even harder to make the face and make up look stronger because I didn't use any additional lighting. Also I don't have anyone to be my model, so I had to use my self for an experiment. I hope you like it although I'm far from a model type :p
I never learn about photograph, I just recently watched many photographers worked in ANTM with their best shots and they inspired me. I really am sorry if my work is hurting any of you. Well, this is just an art, and art means freedom. Enjoy.
Please don't think about the face, just tell me what do you think about the whole concept?
So, which one is the best picture that tells the girl's story?? Pick a favorite and leave a comment please!
Hey! How r u? Thanks for noticing my new post.
Today I'd like to show you my latest creation. My NEW costume :)
Last Saturday (October 16), I got a chance to perform a dance with my dance team (which was newly formed, and this day was our debut). We got a chance to entertain the participants of National Medical Challenge (NMC) on the closing party. The theme of the party was "Gorgeus and Glamour". When I heard that word for the first time, I thought only two colors, black and gold to represent both "gorgeous" and "glamour". But as Indonesian, I thik batik is the perfect symbol to represent "Gorgeus and Glamour". Therefore, my teammates and I decided to choose the color black, gold, and batik as the "main course" of our costumes.
Now, try to compare the original Gakuran with the movie's version. The version in the film seems more fascinating, isn't it? According to me and some friends, the movie's version of gakuran is more like Beskap (traditional dress in Java for men).
original Gakuran |
Genji Takiya (Oguri Shun) |
Genji Takiya- Crows Zero Comic |
Beskap of Central Java |
Gakuran in the movie's version seems shorter (the belt can be seen). And the front shape of gakuran was longer than the back. It is the same with Beskap (you can search it on your search engine).
I really inspired with both beskap and gakuran. And I really amazed with the belt shown. So I thought to combine this beskap/gakuran style, with good belt. I really want to copy a little style from a dance team I love the most, the Beatfreaks. Just look at the picture on this left. You know what I mean right? Gold belt and gold chain.
So I made this style, the original style I wore on the stage that night
If you look closer on the clothes, you will find that I tried my best to implicate beskap/ gakuran.
and the gold belt too (Actually it's not a real gold belt. I just wrapped my belt with a gold fabric--because my budget is so limited)
If you look at the back, actually it's shorter than the front. just like Genji Takiya's Gakuran/ beskap. Unfotunately, I forgot to take my back's picture.
Nothin special.

Back again!
After a long season, now I'm back with more "passion", especially for ANIMALPRINT style! I don't care if this is "off-season" or "old-fashion", some fashion blogger said that to write a fashion blog you don't have to be updated. You just need to put everything you like, write everything you like, and show anything you like. As long as you put your heart into it, everybody will simply love it.
So this is all about a cloth that I found in my sister's closet. It was an old cloth. My sister was about to throw that cloth away but then I asked her to give it to me.
The cloth material is tight and elastic.with turtleneck and half-arm sleeves.
I remember this cloth was given to my sister about 1-2 years ago. So you must think that it is old-fashion--far off the season. But this cloth just gave me a lot of ideas. Here the ideas:
I really love the animalprint on my body!! I combined with my own creation--the black skirt, black gloves, and fishnet in my head (just for accessories). I didn't put any make up (because I run out of eyeliner). But I think smokey eyes will suit best. For shoes, I was wearing black wedges with open toe (but maybe it works best with black stilettos). Sometimes I put black legging under my skirt because my leg is not "beautiful" at all.
So, what do you think? Still, the animalprint really amazes me......
What d'ya think? This is a really serious type. Like a killer-teacher, right? But still it looks sweet too.
I combined the animalprint cloth with a dress (that's original from me), and (again) legging and black-open toe wedges (black jeans works best than legging). But a longer dress seems work best. If you want to look simple, I guess this is a good option to make the animalprint look less.
THIRD
I want more casual wear. So I decide not to "wear" the cloth, but to "put" the cloth around my neck like an accessories.
and here is my best shot:
I really like it. Simple but still-->animalprint fever!! Next thing I want to do is to buy an animalprint scarf!!
Next, I just want to wear something in my head, so, voila!
Well, I hope you like this post, and please leave comments. Anyway, sorry for my bad English, but enjoy!

FIRST
I want a CRAZY-LOOK, a 'lil bit Asian taste (you'll find a lot of Asian who dress with animalprint pattern), I want to look like Asian idol (I think I watch too much Korean and Japanese drama --;)I really love the animalprint on my body!! I combined with my own creation--the black skirt, black gloves, and fishnet in my head (just for accessories). I didn't put any make up (because I run out of eyeliner). Next, I just want to wear something in my head, so, voila!
I guess I just want to taste a little bit winter season because we have no winter here. Although the combination between clothes, scarf and hat is a mess, but still, I like it. It's the same when you see Harajuku style which in fact so tacky and messy, but the public loves it anyway.

XOXO
