So, I've told you about BoA's outfit on the last post. Now I will tell you about the rest of the work, the back dancer's outfit and the accessories.
You knew the reason why I chose BoA's street style from my previous post. But for the back dancers, I chose the all black costume. Because they would look similar, neat, but stylish. Beside, the items for the street costume were harder to find too, so all black costume would make less work for me
The thing was, the all black costume consists of black basic top and pants, and heavy gothic accessorizing. Each of the dancers had their own style and accessories.
Here are their style:
For each character, I had to make choker/necklace, bracelet, and top accessories such as suspenders. I had to draw the design first and started to make a list of things that I had to make.
Everybody basically wore black shirt. One of them was long sleeves, two of them were short sleeves, the other two were tank tops, and one of them was in a some kind of body wrap.
The trickiest part was Aya Sato's top.
I had to make them because they weren't on sale. I made them out of black satin ribbon. First I had to cut them into some layer and sew them into a checkered fabric. Then I sew them into a top.
Can you imagine? A top from a ribbon. With a tanktop beneath it.
For the other tops I just needed to style it a little. I cut the shoulder for Miki's top. Cut the stomach for Kanata and Akane shirts, gave a front lining for Yuko's tank top, and did nothing for Bambi's body wrap.
The material for Kanata's top was a little tricky, because it shines and sheer like a fish net. But I didn't have time for that so I just made it from cotton shirt. No shine, but it's OK.
That's all for the top.
Hotpants with or without hi-waist was easy to find. Skinny pants is always there, everybody's must-have-item. Drop-crotch was a little difficult, but you could always find it among dancers. So, no big deal. Except for Aya's Drop-crotch, I had to put some thing like suspenders hanging in the right-left side of the pants, and attached sequins in the lower leg part.
Akane's and Kanata's pants material should be latex, but it was quite expensive for me, so I just used the common pants material.
You see that each characters has their own style of necklace, so I made it as closely as the original.
Because I had limited fund, rocker's studded was my first choice. Cheap but has gothic vibe. I bought small rings (usually used in bag) and wire to help me hang the ring to the choker. I couldn't afford leather or leather-like fabric for the choker, so thick jacket fabric became my choice to make the chokers.
So here you go:
Aya, Miki, Akane, and Bambi wore chokers while Kanata and Yuko wore gold-chain necklace that we can find anywhere. The bracelet was for Aya Sato's style only, while Bambi wore a simple gold bracelet.
I did the same thing for the suspenders. Using the same rings and fabric. I was having a hard time to find black elastic band to make the suspenders, that's why I decided to make it out of fabric. Except for Bambi's top accessories. I made it out of satin and paper beneath it.
And how do we look?
Here you GO!
I am so sorry, turns out I didn't have pre-performance picture. I forgot to take the picture. All I have is post-performance picture where all of the accessories and outfit were falling apart :(
But you still can enjoy our performance here:
Haha!
See you on my next post!

Back again!
This time around I will tell you about my latest work on a costume for BoA dance cover.
A month a go I joined in a Japan Dance cover competition in Surabaya called Chocodays 2014. The competition held in Ciputra World mall on 13-15 December. I decided to cover Shout it Out, a song from BoA because I love the song very much. The song is cheerful and happy. but the main reason I chose this song was because Rino Nakasone, my favorite dancer/choreographer, was the choreographer of this fun song!
The choreograph was tricky, fun, hard yet beautiful, but the other fun part of the dance cover was about the costume. One of the most important rule of dance cover is the costume cover. We have to make it exactly like the video we cover. People love so much when they see a performance that is really look like the "real" thing. They want to feel like they were in a concert. So we had to make a deal with the costume. Not just the costume, even the hair makeup and accessorizing must look alike.
First, take a look at the MV from BoA's Shout it Out click here
There are 2 sets of costume: The All black costume and the street costume.
For BoA Costume:
I decided to take the Street one instead of the black costume. Because the black costume items were harder to make. I didn't have the pants and I thought it was harder to make it. The tanktop and the beanie hat also. The thing was I couldn't make them all!
Then I tried to browse on the internet about BoA street costume. There was a picture shows the original design of BoA's Jacket from Fig and Viper brand and It costs thousands yen! Clearly, buying the jacket wasn't a good solution for my problem. But the basic top and pants BoA wears were easier to find than the all black costume. If the only problem I found was the jacket, then I decided to make the jacket instead of making the top, pants, and hat for the all black costume.
The jacket consists of various colors: black, tosca, blue, yellow, red, and white. I had a problem choosing the fabric. Because it costs so much for the real jacket fabric. So I chose the fake one. Cheap satin. Wasn't a wise choice, I know. At first I regreted it because satin was to shinny. It makes my garment looks cheaper. But I already spent so much for 6 colors of satin fabrics, so I didn't have much choice, I had to make it work!
I was a lazy person, so building a jacket from zero will be a big-serious-problem. Instead of cutting fabric and making it from zero, I decided to buy a second hand jacket. A black jacket with silver zipper. And thank God I found the jacket that I wanted. Next thing was to cover the black jacket with the satin fabric in the exact same pattern as the real jacket design.
That was the work. The real WORK.
The harder part was the sleeves. I had to cut the sleeves open, covered them, and sew them all together again.
But the result is quite satisfying.
Look cheap. But look good from a far.
For the top, I was using my turtle neck top. Actually BoA's top was a turtle neck tank top, but I chose to cover my sleeves (and some part of my stomach, of course). For the pants, I had to sew 2 line of white ribbon in the side of my black pants to make it look like BoA's jersey pants. I wanted to buy black jersey pants but trust me, my feet were to small and all the jerseys were sooo big. I tried to borrow from my friends to, but they were ill-fit too. So, I had to remake my pants. And Voila!
For Hair/Makeup
My hair was too short for high ponny tail, so I used hair clip to extend it.
For makeup, I did smokey-type.
So, how do I look?
Next, I will talk about the BoA's back dancer costume and accessories, especially for Aya Sato's.
See you on the next post!
(PS. I'm sorry for the bad image quality and bad english :p)

It has been almost a year since the last post I made! wow, how unproductive I am... --;
but here I am, I want to represent my latest work of art!
So, I went to my bestfriend wedding last Saturday, to me, the event was special, because it was my bestfriend's, so I thought I should wear something special too. And I thought it was the right moment to show off who I really am. To show my work of art. To show my passion and to show what I am capable of beside studying medicine :p
Let me show you my look on the weeding reception I went to:
I will tell you what makes my look so special to me.
1. A HANDMADE DRESS
Yeay! For the first time I managed to make a dress using brocade fabric which is so hard and tricky to work with! My other friends were using the fabric to make conventional Kebaya (Javanesse traditional woman clothes), but I tried to make it looks different, so I didn't make conventional Kebaya, but I made some different style. Let me show you the detail of the dress.
Basically it was peplum dress. You can see the peplum skirt in the picture above. I combined it with wide-sleeves and high collar. If you see it closely, you will find that the collar is messy. It is messy, because I made it just the day before the wedding day. The back part also, it was a messy work, because I made it in a rush (because I had my psychiatric exam coming up that week). But overall I really like the look I made in a very short period of time. As you can see, I'm just a med student, I don't have a real competency to work as a tailor :D but I really like how it turns out to be even if it's far from perfection :p
It was my first time too to sew a pattern on a tile fabric (see the detail in my chest). I have to cut the pattern from the brocade fabric, and sew it on tile so it looks like the original brocade. I wasn't sure about my work at first, but when I started to like it gradually. And finally, I found my confident to wear my work of art!
Below the dress, I was wearing Sogan Batik skirt. My mom and I picked the pattern. I think it suits the dress very well.
2. MY OWN MAKE UP DO
I really want to challenged my self on this thing. So I did my own makeup using my standard and basic makeup kit. I wasn't using the top recommended makeup kit to do this look, but I really satisfied. Here are the looks:
I used my favorite foundation from Kryolan and face powder from Wardah in Light Beige. Eyebrows using Brown natural brow pencil from SilkyGirl. Eyeshadow, blush on and shading by Sariayu. I was using 3 colors: gold, green, and black (and of course white for eyebrow bone). I even used a very cheap eyeprimer by VivaQueen, but it turned out to be fair enough, I mean, not too bad. I used a cheap gel liner from Pixy too, but they worked fair enough too. I used Maybelline lipstick, Summer sunset shade. And of course, falsies ;)
The only thing I didn't do my self was my hair-do. I can't make any hair-do by myself!
AND, that was it! Those two things were the reason why I felt special for my bestfriend wedding! I never really show off of my work of art, and now I DID IT!!! I am really happy about it though is far from perfection!
Starting from now on I guess I am confident enough to show my work even if it's not perfect like what tailor do. And I will keep on doing things like this :)
VIVA HONEY AND LUCKY!
Lastly, I never forget to take after-makeup-pictures. So here they are:
Hahaha, this is Halloween edition! Happy October!

I am a big fan of America's Next Top Model, not that I wanted to become model--since I know that is impossible-- but I simply love the pictures taken on the competition, especially when Tyra Banks took it herself! She got perfect taste, arts, and eyes. Her photo shoots always turn out to be really magnificent.
One of the photoshoot Tyra Banks did in one of the ANTM cycle has inspired me in to create this post. I was looking back at the cycle 13, where Tyra Banks took all of the contestants photo with scarfs. The scarfs are styled in different ways for each of the contestant. They put the scarfs in their face, their head, or else in different ways. One of my favorite picture was Nicole's.
Then I found an old scarf--well, it's not actually scarf, but it's a goldie-fishnet-garment, which I don't know what to call it. And I started my experiment with this garment! I tried to put it in my head and covering my face in different ways. I put a classic gold necklace too--which looks like necklace from ancient ages as my only accesories.
Let's see how it turns out to be:
I had another shoot with another scarfs, a green scarfs. For the next style, I tried to use the scarf like using hijab. So it's a little more like mid-eastern style. Check it:
So, what do you think?
